Christa is currently awaiting registration with BCACC as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), and with CCPA as a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC).

Christa is known for bringing a playful and grounded approach to her counselling relationships. She specializes in groups, working with clients experiencing C-PTSD & PTSD, and in working with CAF and Veteran members, entrepreneurs, and social activists.
Christa is an accomplished mental health professional with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology (MACP) and a Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, specializing in language revitalization impacted by trauma (BA). Complementing her academic achievements, Christa holds a DEC in Fine Arts and an ACS in Intercultural Communication and Development, both earned in her home province of Quebec. Having dedicated her time and expertise to volunteer work in Ukraine and British Columbia, Christa completed an intensive 3000-hour mentor-apprentice training in an integrated Indigenous and Western psychotherapeutic group development and delivery program over a period of four years, which involved a hands-on practicum of 1500 hours.
Christa holds trainings as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (3-year program) and is certified as an EMDR therapist, with additional training in the EMDR-IGTP model developed by Ignacio Jarero. These specialized certifications and trainings further enhance her skills in providing trauma-informed care and therapeutic interventions. Emphasizing a holistic approach to healing, Christa incorporates these modalities into her practice to support clients in processing and resolving traumatic experiences at a somatic and cognitive level, fostering lasting emotional well-being and resilience.
Christa’s professional experience extends beyond her clinical work, encompassing impactful contributions to local and international non-profit organizations. She has played a pivotal role in spearheading various initiatives aimed at promoting mental health and well-being in diverse communities. Notably, Christa led the development of an experiential mental health program in Central America, creating innovative and culturally sensitive interventions to address the unique mental health needs of individuals in that region. Christa also developed and delivered the Telus podcast mini-series “Let’s Talk Access,” exploring barriers to mental health services in Victoria BC. Through her dedication to serving marginalized populations and advocating for mental health awareness, Christa has established herself as a compassionate leader in the field of mental health and community empowerment.
As a proud mixed-race woman, Christa is actively reconnecting with her family’s rich heritage, which encompasses Celtic, French, Indigenous, and Melungeon ancestry. This unique background places Christa in a special position to support clients in exploring individual and collective mental health.
Christa’s multifaceted background, encompassing clinical expertise, academic achievements, and a commitment to community engagement, reflects her passion for supporting individuals on their healing journeys. With a global perspective and a deep understanding of cultural dynamics, she continues to make a positive impact on the lives of those she serves, residing on lək̓ʷəŋən territory in Victoria, British Columbia.
